The Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago: 2006 Gold Key Award

Honored with a 2006 HBAGC Excellence in Housing Gold Key Award.

New urban infill development in West Loop neighborhood of Chicago consisting of 69 luxury townhouses with 9 unit types, ranging from 2,400 – 4,000 sq. ft.

Accomplished using “as-of-right” zoning to avoid time-consuming Planned Development process. The solution was a “snake” shaped building weaving around two deep courtyards which are landscaped as private parks for residents.

Architectural language of facades was inspired by buildings found throughout the West Loop, and by their “Sullivanesque” brick and terra cotta detailing.

The project set the record for speed of sales for this developer.
